First what am I talking about, right? What is wet blocking? It is one of the most transformative processes in knitting. During its first wash, I add a bit of soap and some cool water and let it soak for about 15-30 min. Than I squeeze the water out of the garment than roll it with a towel to remove any access water. A knitted garment will undergo a bit of change — the fibers will plump up, the stitches look neater and simply puts the garmenot into a beautifully even and sturdy fabric. Than I start blocking the garment on a foam mat and straighten the piece so that will look seemless. Just think of blocking your knitting pieces, is like hairspray for your knits. Put everything into place and it’s the final step that you take to keep your finished project in it’s perfect place. Let me know if you have any questions or simply comment if you enjoy reading this.
